Formación y retención de los trabajadores de más edad en la empresa. Evidencia de Alemania

La retención en las empresas de los trabajadores de más edad podría paliar carencias de capital humano derivadas del rápido envejecimiento de la población activa. Con datos de emparejamientos empresa‐asalariado de Alemania, de 2002–2008, los autores investigan la relación entre formación en la empresa, salarios y decisiones de jubilación de los trabajadores de 50–65 años y encuentran que cuando la formación está adaptada a estos trabajadores, las mujeres, sobre todo de bajos ingresos, son menos proclives a jubilarse, posiblemente por un crecimiento salarial concomitante. Este tipo de formación podría pues contribuir a retener y promover a las mujeres de edad y de bajos ingresos.     

An empirical study of third-party purchase: New Zealand users’ perspective

This article investigates the potential for third-party purchase (3PP) services offered by third-party logistics (3PL) providers, from the perspective of 3PL users, based on transaction cost analysis. We conducted a survey of New Zealand 3PL users and received 163 usable responses. Structural equation modelling was used to test the conceptual model. We found that 3PL users are more likely to adopt 3PP service when there is greater uncertainty. Asset specificity, frequency and transaction size do not have a significant relationship with 3PP service adoption. However, 3PP service is significantly related to the value-to-client and benefit-to-3PL provider. This study is pioneering research on 3PP service as a value-added service offered by 3PL providers from the perspective of 3PL users. The findings suggest that offering 3PP service will provide mutual benefits and value for both 3PL users and their 3PL providers.     

MENA stock market volatility persistence: Evidence before and after the financial crisis of 2008

The global financial crisis began with a financial meltdown in the United States in early 2008 and then it had spread to the rest of the world. In this paper we test whether the MENA equity market volatility presents a different behavior before and after the financial crisis of 2008. Using long range dependence techniques we test for long memory in the returns, absolute and squared returns of the MENA equity markets. We subject the series to unit root tests that allow for structural breaks and use the Bai and Perron (1998, Econometrica, 66, 47; 2003a, J. Appl. Econometrics, 6, 72; 2003b, Econometrics J., 18, 1) to test for multiple breaks in the mean returns. The results indicate that the volatility measures represented by absolute and squared returns show evidence of long memory for the full and subsample periods, while the returns show a weak evidence of long memory. Considering the shift dates and corresponding to the 2008 financial crisis, the returns and volatility measures display less evidence of long memory in the after crisis period as opposed to the before crisis period. The change in the returns and volatility dynamics of these markets was due to financial and economic conditions that took place in the MENA region after the crisis.

La formación en el trabajo en Europa. Determinantes y rendimiento salarial

Los autores analizan los determinantes de la participación de los trabajadores en actividades formativas y los efectos de éstas sobre los salarios. A partir de datos de seis países del Panel de Hogares de la Unión Europea del período 19952001, construyen cuatro tipos de indicadores de formación. Sus estimaciones con mínimos cuadrados ordinarios indican que las actividades formativas generan unos rendimientos salariales notables en casi todos los países analizados. Sin embargo, los rendimientos no son estadísticamente distintos de cero cuando repiten las estimaciones con modelos de efectos fijos. Por tanto, las ganancias salariales debidas a la formación podrían estar siendo sobrestimadas al no tenerse en cuenta adecuadamente otros factores.     

供应链绩效控制的多目标主从对策研究

基于对供应链订货模式的分析,考虑顾客参与协调的合理性与公平性要求,文中建立了基于订货协调创新的供应链绩效控制的多目标主从对策模型,研究了不同决策机制下特定协调策略对供应链绩效水平的影响。应用改进的遗传算法,对一个化工品分销系统Stackelberg主从对策问题进行离线仿真计算,结果表明,订货协调创新策略可以有效地控制供应链的绩效水平,分销商、顾客以及整个供应链系统的绩效得到不同程度的改善,多目标Stackelberg主从决策机制更加合理,接近实际。     

适用于多速率高阶QAM的定时同步改进算法

针对速率可变的高阶正交幅度调制(QAM)信号定时同步问题，提出了一种基于Gardn er理论的定时同步改进算法。新算法改原有滤波器结构为两级插值级联优化结构来实现多速 率信号的定时同步，可独立于载波同步单独使用，比传统结构具有更强的普遍适用性。仿真 结果表明，该算法可以准确地对速率可变的128QAM信号进行同步。     

基于遗传算法的农产品物流车辆路径问题决策研究

我国农产品物流成本较高的主要原因之一是缺乏科学的管理技术,尤其是基于定量分析的决策技术。对物流车辆路径问题的优化可以有效降低农产品的物流成本。针对农产品的时效性,对带有时间窗的农产品物流车辆路径问题,引入客户满意度函数,建立实例决策模型,运用遗传算法工具箱进行优化求解。通过对优化前后的数据进行比较,验证决策模型的可行性和合理性。     

Profit Based Efficiency Measures,with an Application to Rice Production in Southern India

Using non‐parametric methods, we estimate the foregone rents due to credit, allocative, and technical inefficiencies of subsistence farmers in Southern India. The lost rents are estimated directly from the Nerlovian efficiency index, and the results suggest the largest foregone rents derive from allocative inefficiencies and then credit inefficiencies. Also, results suggest that farms without well access experience larger losses than those with well access. Econometric results suggest education, the presence of tank water management efforts, and well access influence the level of foregone rent due to allocative and Nerlovian inefficiencies. Educational activities and policies to encourage better management of tanks are considered important for lowering the foregone losses.
